Tutor registration

Thank you for your love and persistence in Pilates teaching, and for all your efforts to become the Pilates Alliance International Certified instructor.

In order to promote the better development of the Pilates League, the league currently offers only one kind of teacher qualification registration.

More qualifications will be released according to different needs.

Certification name

Certification conditions

  • Understand and support the Pilates Alliance Commitment on Ethical Standards (attached PDF)
  • Have MAT PROGRAM and REFORMER PROGRAM certification
    or COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM certification.

  • Have at least 200 hours of teaching experience
  • At least three or more course Outlines and frameworks (course theme, training frequency, whether the course is graded (several levels) Provide at least three photos of the training site (upload pictures and insert attachments)

Registered Yoga Teacher 200

Registered Pilates teachers 200 people

If a teacher successfully completes 200 hours of Pilates teacher training registered with the Pilates Alliance, they can register as PAII 200. All training hours must come from the same school and multiple training cannot be combined to meet the 200-hour requirement.

500 registered Pilates teachers

500 registered Pilates teachers

If a teacher successfully completes 500 hours of Pilates teacher training registered with the Pilates Alliance, they can register as PAII 500. The 500 hours of training can be either from a school or 200 hours of teacher training plus another 300 hours of advanced teacher training * from different PAII. Applicants must also submit 100 teaching hours completed after the PAII 200 or PAII 500 training.

Training Requirements

✓ Completed a 500-hour teacher training with an RYS 500, or
✓ Completed a 200-hour teacher training with an RYS 200 plus an additional 300 hours of training with either the same RYS or a different RYS registered as an RYS 300

Teaching Requirements

✓ Has at least 100 hours of teaching experience since completing training with an RYS 200 or RYS 500

*Advanced training is defined as training that requires participants to have completed a 200-hour training.

Experienced registered Pilates teachers 200 people

Experienced registered Pilates teachers 200 people

Once registered, PAII 200 can provide continuing education workshops for PAII and can be the lead trainer for PAII 200's 200-hour teaching training until December 31, 2024.

If teachers have successfully completed 200 hours of Pilates teacher training registered with the Pilates Alliance and have taught for at least two years after completing the training, then they can register as PAII 200. All training hours must come from the same school and multiple training cannot be combined to meet the 200-hour requirement. Applicants must submit 1,000 teaching hours for this designation, which must be completed upon completion of training in PAII 200.

✓ Has at least 1,000 hours of teaching experience since completing training with an RYS 200
✓ Has taught for at least two years since completing training with an RYS 200

*These standards were launched prior to the COVID-19 pandemic that prompted substantial shifts in the yoga landscape. Since then, we have revisited and revised our standards to ensure they continue to meet the current and evolving needs of the broader yoga community. As such, all members will be required to up-level to forthcoming enhanced standards by December 31, 2024.

By December 31, 2024, under the Elevated RYS 200 Standards, Lead Trainers must:

  • hold the E-RYT 500 credential; and
  • teach at least 150 of the 200 core curriculum hours of the foundational teacher training program.

500 experienced registered Pilates teachers

500 experienced registered Pilates teachers

Once registered, PAII 500 can provide continuing education workshops to other teachers and can be a lead trainer for 200, 300 or 500 hours of teacher training.

If teachers have successfully completed 500 hours of Pilates teacher training registered with the Pilates Alliance and have taught for at least four years after completing their PAII 200 training, then they can register as PAII 500. The 500 hours of training can be either from one school or 200 hours of training plus another 300 hours of advanced teacher training * from different PAII. Applicants must submit 2,000 teaching hours for this designation, 1,500 of which must be taught after completing training in PAII 200 or PAII 500. The remaining 500 teaching hours must be taught upon completion of the PAII 300 or PAII 500 training.

✓ Completed a 500-hour teacher training with an RYS 500, or
✓ Completed a 200-hour teacher training with an RYS 200 plus an additional 300-hour teacher training with either the same RYS (if it is registered as an RYS 300) or a different RYS 300

Teaching Requirements

✓ Has at least 2,000 hours of teaching experience since completing training with an RYS 200 or RYS 500. At least 500 of these hours must be taught after completing training with an RYS 300 or RYS 500.
✓ Has taught for at least four years since completing training with an RYS 200 or RYS 500.

How to Maintain Your Registration

  1. Abide by the member-wide Ethical Commitment including an enhanced Code of Conduct
  2. Adhere to the Yoga Therapy policy of the Yogi Pilates League
  3. Complete your Continuing Education Requirement every three years
  4. Pay your annual renewal fees
